The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission of the United Kingdom (CSC) has offered Mr Habibu Juma Suluo of the Tanzanian Surface and Marine Trasnport Regulatory Authority an opportunity, through the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship Scheme to come to the UK to gain working experience of UK business. The aim is to facilitate sharing of knowledge, experience, best practices and challenges and to build competence in order that Mr. Suluo may have a ‘catalytic’ effect on his home country (Tanzania). Mr Suluo was selected as one of only 56 successful candidates in the year 2010 over the Commonwealth Countries.

Vessels certified and operating in Sea Area A4 must install LRIT compatible Iridium equipment on board to fully comply with LRIT regulations. Existing Inmarsat terminals cannot be relied upon to send LRIT data within Sea Area A4.
